You’ve heard the quotes many times and they’re right on the money.  Aristotle was dead on when he said, “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom”.   Socrates said, “Know thyself.”   Tina Lifford said, “When you know yourself you are empowered. When you accept yourself you are invincible.”  Such wisdom imparted, seldom acted upon in our nanosecond culture because it takes time, time to really learn…reflect…gain a true understanding. One doesn’t just sit down and in an afternoon learn all about themselves.  That’s ludicrous.  You certainly wouldn’t prepare for the biggest event in your life by dedicating only an afternoon or an hour here or there, would you?

Just watch the faces of others and you’ll get a glimpse of who you are. Pay attention!  Know what you bring to the table….know your own passions, prejudices, strengths and most of all your failings for they will give you great insight and understanding. Steve Jobs nailed it when he said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

Give yourself a gift today—take some time and learn, REALLY learn yourself. Connect the dots.  Give yourself permission and grace to forgive yourself for the things you didn’t know before you were even aware. Don’t wander thru life faking or posing/pretending, as that’s exhausting.

Become wise, intelligent, powerful. Once you’ve discovered who you really are, you free yourself to become who you want to be, who you were designed to be. THEN, you can become useful. Understand your value and your worth. #reflect #pause #transform
